Marc Jacobs SS13

Love the simple, pared down take on the 60s. Need something in monochrome stripes to wear with my pointed shoes!

Cos AW 2012

Really impressed with what i have seen so far from Cos - expect lots more muted brights and pastels. Never been so excited for Autumn colours! I need the fluffy jumper and lime trousers. Lots more looks online - these are just a few of my favourites.

Chair

Lucky find at my local market - best chair ever! Behind is a book case i rescued from my auntie's garden and painted, holding my collection of vintage childrens books, some 50s shot glasses, Ikea lamp and an ornament of a pig which used to belong to my great grandmother.

Sew and Stitch

Came across a box filled with these lovely things as well as loads of threads on wooden spools at my local car boot sale. They came home with me!

Sunset at Stenness

Finally got a pretty sunset on our last night in Orkney - Standing Stones of Stenness - Orkney

Lucas Nascimento

Love Lucas Nascimento's latest collections - but my favourite is still his AW11 collection. Actually want to wear everything! His label has only been going since 2009 but he has already shown as part of London Fashion Week, been sponsored by NEWGEN and been featured in Vogue and Elle.

The dancing giants of Brodgar

The Ring of Brodgar, a neolithic stone circle, built between 2500 BC and 2000 BC, is surrounded by folklore. Today i went to run around and take some photos. Each stone is about 7 foot tall, and the circle measures 104 meters across. Here's my favourite story.

One dark, starry night, a very long time ago, a group of fearsome giants crossed the causeway on to the Ness of Brodgar.

Once across, they gathered in a field that had the Stenness Loch to its left and the Harray Loch to the right. There, they decided to dance.

From the folds of his cloak the fiddler took out an ancient fiddle and began a swirling reel. Upon hearing the music, his companions joined hands then, whooping and shouting like fools, formed a circle and danced. The ground beneath their feet fairly trembled as the colossal dancers whirled round and round, faster and faster.

So great was their enjoyment of the dance that they forgot to pay attention to the eastern horizon and lost all thought as to how quickly the night was passing.

Then, before they knew it, the morning sun crept into the sky behind them and with a shriek and a moan, the newborn rays of light touched the dancing giants.

No sooner had the golden light touched their skin than they turned into cold, hard stone...

And there they remained.

Marni for H&M

A few of my favourites from the soon to arrive Marni for H&M collection. I am literally counting down the days!

(9 days)

Hello purple hair

I have never wanted purple hair so much. Or neon jeans. I actually love her.

Jil Sander AW12/13

Raf Simons is an actual genius. The collection is soft and pretty at the same time as being clean and minimalist. Cant work out which coat i love most (not that i could even dream of affording one!!). Think its got to be the pink collarless one. Love the muted colour pallette, combined with pops of red and metallic. Wonder whats next for Raf Simons, YSL? Dior? Hmmm.

Marni AW12/13

I thought Marni was perfect as always this season, although i did miss the geometric prints i have become obsessed with. A bit sixties, a bit art deco, and the colours are completely perfect. Getting very very excited about Marni's collaboration with H&M!!

Sophie Hulme AW12/13

Who knew dinosaurs could be so sophisticated?! Absolutely love the dinosaur broderie anglaise style lace, and the little gold dinosaur trinkets. Some pretty amazing masculine styled coats and cute ankle sock and shoe combinations too. A really clean, minimal collection, which still has fun, quirky elements. Cant believe this girl only graduated in 2007!

Meadham Kirchoff AW12/13

I didn't realise i loved Meadham Kirchoff's latest collection until i zoomed in. Tinsel for earrings! Teddy bear eyes for buttons! Collars! Glittery tights! An angry love heart! Not for the faint hearted. My favourite parts are the little heart applique with an angry face, and the half baby blue/half pink lipstick. Also spotted that the models have something fun looking on their nails, wonder if they will launch nails in Topshop next season too?! (currently sporting orange nails with a little red and blue giraffe on one courtesy of Meadham Kirkchoff for Nail Rock at Topshop - obsessed!)

Peter Jensen and Thelma Spiers

Peter Jensen's latest collection is full of all the things i love - ankle socks, contrasting collars, brights mixed with pastels. Not so much print as usual, but the gorgeous colours make up for it. His signature rabbit popped up on a knitted jumper and the most amazing hats. The collection is really wearable, but still quirky and full of humour which is what i love about his work. I was gutted i missed his exhibition at the V&A, but got the book for Christmas. Best present ever.

Louise Gray AW12

Always look forward to seeing Louise Gray's latest collection. Colour combinations are mad but work. Love her flat graphic screen prints mixed in with crazy woven patterns and embellishments. Happy headache. Also, the hair and makeup is always so much fun. Hooray for fellow Scots!

Sock binge

I know its a bit weird but nothing cheers me up more than sock shopping at Cos.

Models walking up and down in dresses

Antoni & Alison have reminded me why i love digital print. Even the cutest collage looks sophisticated when digitally printed onto a simple silk dress. Love the play in scale, the ric rac ribbon, the scribbles, the odd placements of squares of fabric... love most of it actually. Their first catwalk show since 2005 and its a beaut!

Edit - Hooray heres a video of the show!

Meadham Kirchoff Nails

Hurray! I have a kitten on my nail!

My house

Handmade cotton and linen cushion + vintage suitcase + hand painted mirror and vintage school table.

Vintage suitcase from Battlesbridge antiques centre (one of my favourite places). Love how it has the old sticker on it!

Rob Ryan card (will have to do till i can afford a print or paper cut!) + cute birthday card + adorable vintage card.

Happy days!

Sandra Erbacher

Came across Sandra Erbacher's work on one of my favourite blogs I Love Sticky Tape. She creates lovely things with tape. I especially loved 'Second First Date' and 'When Family Fails' (shown above), then i found her drawings! The colours and placement is perfect, i even love the way they have been photographed. She did her BA at my uni too - go UAL!
